To meetings scheduled for Tue - Sat between 9.00 and 11.00 and between 11.00 and 13.00 visitors should arrive 30 min in advance, so documents could be filled before the start of the meeting. To meetings scheduled Tue - Sat between 14.00 and 15.30 visitors should arrive at 12.30, so documents could be filled before 13.00.



Money can be accepted and transferred to personal accounts of detainees if remitter provides personal identification document

According to the Law on Arrest Enforcement (in effect since 1 April 2009, Žin. 1996, No. 12-313; 2008, No. 81-3172) the following new requirements are in force):

  • The number of visits to detainees by their relatives and other persons is not limited. However, the prison administration gives the permission for a visit only after having received the written authorization for the visit either from the person in charge of the pre-trial investigation, or the prosecutor investigating the case, or the court. Such permission can be onetime permission or the permission for several visits. If the person in charge of the pre-trial investigation or the prosecutor investigating the case, or the court do not give the permission for a visit, they should present their motivated decision for the detainee and for the prison administration. (Art. 22, Part 1)
  • Detainees have the right to receive post parcels with clothes and footwear once a month. The amount of small parcels is not limited but food cannot be received. (Art. 24, Part 1)
  • The weight of one post parcel cannot exceed 10 kilos; the weight of one hand-over parcel cannot exceed 15 kilos. (Art. 22, Part 2)
  • Detainees are forbidden to possess the items and supplies included in Annex 1 to Penal Code. (Žin., 2002, No. 73-3084; 2005, No. 58-2002) (Art. 32, Part 3).


List of items and accessories forbidden for prisoners:

  1. Objects, products and materials the use of which is not allowed for civilians is not allowed
  2. All types of fire arms, ammunition and explosives, manuals of fire arms and explosives, gas tanks (except disposable lighters)
  3. All types of vehicles
  4. Money, valuables and securities (bonds)
  5. Optical equipment
  6. Audio players, TV sets with bigger screen size than 51 cm, phones (also phone parts and accessories), radio communication equipment
  7. Watches made of precious metals
  8. All types of alcoholic drinks, perfume, cologne and other products including ethyl alcohol
  9. Narcotic, psychotropic and toxic products, their components, strong medication and medical items - without permission of doctor
  10. Typewriters, copying equipment
  11. Knives, shaving items (except electric and mechanical shaving items and shaving items with cassettes) and other sharp and pointed items
  12. Locksmith's, carpenter and other tools
  13. Playing cards
  14. Photo, video equipment, imaging materials, chemicals
  15. Documents (except text of legal acts, duplicates or copies of criminal case materials, judgements, orders and resolutions, responses of the state and municipal institutions and agencies, officials and civil servants, NGOs and international institutions, receipts of deposited cash and valuable items)
  16. Topographic maps, compasses
  17. Military or other uniform, uniform accessories
  18. Copying paper
